Sciatic Nerve and Piriformis Muscle
There is a relationship between sciatic nerve and piriformis muscle which is agreed by all anatomists. In maximum cases under the muscle belly the nerve runs, in some cases the nerve passes through the piriformis muscle. Then the entire sciatic nerve passes through the piriformis muscle. These caused pain in the leg and buttock. It can be relieved by rest.
Sit down and place both feet on the ground firmly. On either side of your ankle joints feel the knobs. Now roll the feet inward. This can be done by twisting the entire shin bone. This is what happens when people walk with a flat-footed gait.
Detect the Piriformis Muscles
The Simple way to detect the Piriformis Muscles is, Lie on the floor and think about whether or any pleasant moment for few minutes. Now, look at the feet if one drops out more than the other, on that side piriformis muscle either contracted or shortened. Now both legs 10 inches from the floor and swing it across its partner.
If you find piriformis shortening on the right side is more than left. This may be the cause of an asymmetry of weight bearing. It was noticed that out six children five have right side broader leg than the left.
Relief for Piriformis Pain
1. Lie down on the bed get help to apply a firm downward pull on the ankles.
2. Another effective exercise to get relief from piriformis muscle is lie down on the floor straight. Rotate your legs one by one by holding it with your hands slowly and gently for 3 minutes. Practice this five times in a day.
3. Twist yoga exercise is one more effective exercise of stretching piriformis muscle to improve foot placement and gait. Turn outward like penguin both legs and walk like a penguin. Now roll the legs inwards by wearing strong inside counter shoes by arch-supporting muscles strengthening. This exercise is so simple to perform
