The Anuloma-Viloma asana is a process of purification. It calms the nerves and strengthens the lungs. It is helpful to cure a cold, cough, asthma, chronic headache, and insomnia.
1.Sit erect on the floor in any comfortable position you like, keeping the spine, neck, and head erect.
2.Rest your left hand on the left knee.
3.Close the right side nostril by pressing with the help of the tip of the right thumb against it.
4.Through the left nostril breathe out slowly.
5.Through the left nostril inhale deeply and slowly keeping the right nostril closed.
6.Close the left nostril with the help of right hand little and ring fingers and exhale through the right nostril.
7.Through the right nostril inhale slowly and deeply, keeping the right nostril closed.
8.Now through the left nostril exhale slowly, keeping the right side nostril closed.
9.This is the one round of Anuloma-Viloma.
10.Repeat the whole process again.
11.Exhaling and Inhaling should be very slowly without any sound.
The Ujjayi asana helps the thyroid glands to function smoothly and clears the nasal passage and beneficial in respiratory problems.
1.Sit on the floor erect, comfortably in any meditative pose.
2.Through the both nostrils inhale deeply, slowly and steadily with the low sound through the glottis.
3.After inhaling for two seconds hold the breath.
4.Through the left nostril exhale noisily, keep the right side nostril closed.
5.Repeat the same process as often as required.
Precaution: High blood pressure people should not practice Ujjayi asana.
The Bhastrika asana needs to perform with quick and instant expirations of breath. This asana is beneficial for lungs and abdominal viscera. There are different types of techniques to practice Bhastrika. Following technique is simplest and easy to perform Bhastrika.
Sit in padmasana position on the floor.
2.Do twenty strokes of Kala Bharti asana.
3.Rapidly exhale and inhale by making a puffing sound.
Sample Menu of Diabetes Diet
Break Fast: Brown bread toast three slices, orange one, one cup of milk, tea or coffee if required.
Lunch: Brown rice two cups, one pulka, one cup spinach, one cup sambar. One tomato or cucumber salad, half cup curd.
Evening: Half cup upma, one cup milk, tea or coffee if required.
Dinner: Phulka three, one cup green gram dhal, roasted papad one, cauliflower curry one cup. One cucumber or tomato, oil to cook 5 tea spoons.
Bed time: One cup of light hot milk with 100gms of fenugreek seeds.
