When pancreas effects by infections with coxsackie B virus it results in damage to beta cell, autoantibody development, type 1 insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. Age
As the people grow older especially at the age of 45 years the risk of type 2 diabetes increases because as the people grow older they become less active, gain weight and lose muscle mass. Among people in their 40s, there has been more risk of diabetes due to a sedentary lifestyle.
Tension and Stress
Stress can be physical or emotional like serious infection, surgery, emotional shock or an accident. Since there is the connection between diabetes mellitus and stress, those who lead an irregular lifestyle or under stress need to take care of their health through precautions and need to change lifestyle. Stress result in pancreatic insufficiency leads to diabetes.
Anxiety, worry and grief resulting from close relative death, examinations, job loss, business failure and strained marital relationships, all these have great influence on metabolism and result in the appearance of sugar in the urine.
Organic Disorders
Diabetes associated with organic disorders like tuberculosis, cancer and other diseases. So many other factors also caused diabetes which includes metabolic and genetic disorders. Secretion of insulin is inadequate by the pancreas functions of other endocrine glands like thyroid, adrenal, smoking, pituitary, alcohol and the consumption of certain drugs.

The reason is not clear but the people of certain races develop diabetes than others.
