The first indication I had health problems was a sore leg while walking. I thought I’d injured it in some way but as it wasn’t improving I went to the doctor. I was shocked to find that I had a blocked artery, diabetes and high cholesterol. I’d been a little overweight for a year or so but I’d been slim the rest of my life. I had no other symptoms whatsoever apart from the leg!
I manage the diabetes with one tablet a day and diet. A blood thinner helps my walking but not totally. I wish I’d been aware that diabetes can be building up without you knowing it. If I’d caught it in the pre-diabetes stage then diet alone would have prevented the problems.
